RE : Declaring a capital loss on gifting an overseas property on a self assessment
Hi ,The disposal should be declared in the capital gains section of the tax return, where you would show the loss that has occured.
You will need to include a copy of your calculation, showing how you arrived at the loss.
You can claim to carry the loss forward and set it against a future gain .

The guidance for capital gains does not differentiate between UK residential property and foreign residential property.
Both are taxable at the same rates.

Please call Employer Helpline on 030020 32002 or if calling from overseas +44151268 .0558, as if you are paying your wife £15k,
and are not already rgistered as an employer, you will need to register for a PAYE scheme to report these payments to your wife.
