RE : Storage containers and allowances
Hi ,
As your question appears to relate to capital allowances (possibly plant and machinery allowances) and the difference in treatment
between shipping containers that are used for their primary purpose (transport of goods) and other purposes
(rentable, static storage units), you should ask this question in our Business Tax forum instead.

RE: Interest Income from overseas bank (NON UK)
Hi ,
You don't need to pay UK tax on foreign income or capital gains if: you've made less than £2,000 in the relevant tax year,
and you don't bring that money into the UK.
Please refer to the following Guidance - :
Tax on foreign income .

RE: Reporting CGT on Overseas Property sale
Hi ,
You will need to submit your tax return by 31 January 2025, regardless.
Please report the disposal of the property.
You can amend your tax return at a later date to declare the Portuguese capital gains tax paid and claim a tax credit.

RE : Taxable benefits and expenses From Employer
Hi ,
You should check with your employer as this benefit may be that you pay this part of your benefits through payroll.
You do not need to report payrolled benefits.
If you do not pay expenses and benefits through payroll, then a P11d is required and the details declared on your tax return.
See (: Expenses and benefits for employers ).

RE: Gifting Property to Children
Hi ,
Possibly, yes.
Private residence relief ( HS283 Private Residence Relief (2024 ) will cover the period that the property was your main residence,
so a gain may arise from the period it was not your main residence.
You will need to work this out .
There is a calculator at :
Capital Gains Tax .
As you are gifting the property to your son, you will need to obtain the market value of the property at the time of gifting,
to work out any gain / loss.
If there is a gain, you have 60 days from the completion date to report and pay the tax due.
There are links at the end of the calculator to allow you to do all of this online .
Thank you .
