Unfortunately, we cannot provide advice in respect of you wishing to pay Voluntary National Insurance on this forum.
All enquiries relating to this should be answered by Contact the Pension Service: Get information about your State Pension.

You may also be able to view the date you submitted a form and track it’s progress.

RE: Self Assessment and Class 2 NI
Hi Bradley Chambers,
If you submitted an application in early 2024 then you should have received confirmation, in writing, of whether or not the application has been successful and the next steps to take.
• You can check your Personal tax account: sign in or set up (PTA), which will show the date you submitted the application to cease Self Assessment. The status message will display the stage your request is at.
• At the point that HMRC actions your request, the status message will show as completed and remains on your account for two years.
• We would write you a letter to confirm that the Self Assessment record is closed, or if we need more details from you. If you have not received a letter and it has been more than three weeks since you submitted the online form, then customers should check their PTA before contacting us by webchat Self Assessment: general enquiries
• Customers can access their PTA using their HMRC online account or the HMRC app.
If your Self Employment ceased between the 06 April 2023 and the 5 April 2024 then you will still need to complete a tax return for that year and the Class 2 National Insurance due will form part of that calculation. That tax return has to be submitted along with any tax and National Insurance due by the 31 January 2025.
Class 2 National Insurance is payable through Self Assessment.
Class 1 National Insurance is payable through PAYE via your employer
Thank you.

RE: Confirmation of taxes charged by OTOFPR Limited on Trading
Hi Sueluan
Unfortunately we cannot assist you with this case nor appeal for others who may have had a similar experience to yourself or David.
That is not an option with this forum.
His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is the Government Department that deals with tax affairs including the collection of tax.
The Financial Conduct Authority | FCA regulates financial service firms and financial markets in the UK
We are not aware of a British Financial regulatory bureau.
If you are a resident taxpayer of the UK and feel that you have been scammed then you should contact the Police via I've been a victim of fraud | Action Fraud who will provide advice.
If you are resident in the Unites States of America then I assume you will explore the options available to you there.
As we can’t assist any further in this instance we have closed this thread.
Thank you

Hi Julia Abbott,
Guidance is available at:
Rent a room in your home: The Rent a Room Scheme
Rent a room is appropriate in this circumstance. Under this you would not have to complete a return unless you were to go above the threshold of £7,500. How you apportion the running costs is up to you to establish what is your costs for running the rent a room scheme.
