Re:Clarity on Tax Refund Process & Times
Hi NevanP,
As soon as your tax repayment was calculated, it would have been available to claim online, which you received notification of. If you then requested online to have your repayment refunded to your bank account, this can take up to 10 working days. If you have not received your repayment after 10 working days, contact us by webchat or phone via Self Assessment: general enquiries and we can give you an update.
Thank you. -

Re:Tax on state pension and work pensions in the first year of retirement
Hi andyb7777 Beecham,
If you are now in receipt of a personal pension but not a state pension then there should not be a deduction for state pension in your code. To review this you will need to contact HMRCIncome Tax: general enquiries.

Re:Pension contributions being taxed on self assessment?
Hi Gavin,
If the pension contributions are taken from your wage before the tax is calculated then this will be taken into account on your P60 which will show the taxable pay.
Thank you. -

Re:Working tax credit and Pension
Hi
If both of you are currently working your award will include 2 elements for WTC.
Working Tax Credit can only be paid to the nominated payee.
If one person stops working you must notify the Tax Credit Office straightaway. If the person leaving work is the nominated payee for WTC, this can be changed to the partner, providing that the partner meets the eligibility criteria for WTC. Information on eligibility can be found here Working Tax Credit: Eligibility - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
For information about making changes please go to Manage your tax credits - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Thank you.
