RE: Not had a Migration letter should I be concerned
Hi,
We are unable to comment on the budgeting loan as this is dealt with by DWP.
There are still a number of tax credit customers who have not been asked to migrate to UC but the plan is for DWP to have the migration letters sent by the beginning of January.
The letters are issued by DWP so we would advise you to contact DWP to check that the migration letter has not yet been issued.
DWP may be able to give you a timeframe.
Thank you. -
RE: Letter Received about Tax Credits Review (TC3MM)
Hi Sarah,
HMRC may write to a customer where a particular claim for a single or multiple tax years have not been correctly finalised on system.
In these cases we will write to the customer to ask if the details we hold are correct so that we can make the necessary legal decision.
We may also ask the customer to provide income details to ensure that we have paid the correct entitlement.
If the details we hold are correct we will make a final decision on that year confirming that the customer has received the correct entitlement for the year.
If the details are incorrect the customer must tell us.
During the review, if we owe the customer any arrears of tax credits they would be paid into their bank account.
Thank you.

RE: US Treasury bills (Short term)
Hi,
Deeply Discounted Securities’ (DDS) are government securities, commercial bonds and loan stock, where the amount paid on redemption is higher than the price at which they were issued. The difference is the discount and represents the whole or part of the reward to the holder of the security for the use of the money borrowed by the security issuer.
Where certain conditions apply, the tax rules ensure that gains on such securities are taxed as income, rather than as capital gains.
(SAIM3010 - Deeply discounted securities: introduction).
If you invest in deeply discounted securities, put the difference between what you paid for the bond and what you redeem or sell it for in box 3 of SA101 (page Ai1).
