  • RE: Voluntary Contributions not appearing in my online record

    Hi Kate Davies,
Apologies for the delay in allocating your payment.
Our systems do not currently issue automatic confirmations of payments received and they only confirmation you can receive is direct by contacting National Insurance.
Due to the high volume of customers trying to make voluntary contributions for periods abroad, it currently could take up to 67 weeks for our caseworkers to allocate your payment.
If at any point you fall within 6 month of your State Pension age or you are already state pension age, and your payment has still not been allocated, please contact the National Insurance department on 0300 200 3500 or +44 191 203 7010 if calling from outside the UK. This is the only exception we can consider in escalating an allocation.

  • RE: National Insurance Credits Child Benefits Transfer from 2010 onwards

    Hi,
Credits can only be transferred between parents if the individual claiming child benefit has a complete qualifying tax year if credits earned through Child Benefit were to be deducted.
We cannot create a deficit for another person by taking credits from their account.
Therefore, any tax year granted through this application will not negatively impact your spouse.
If there are any tax years that cannot be transferred to you, our caseworkers will provide an explanation in writing.
    Thank you.

    Hi Timothy Ratcliffe,
You can contact Child Benefit on 0300 200 3100, they may have a record of your Child Benefit number (CHB).
If you can not get your CHB number and you are completing a digital version of the form, you can type 12345678AB after the CHB box.
If you still have issues, you can contact the Online service help desk on 0300 200 3600. They will be able to assist further with the utilisation of the online form.
There is no specific deadline for transferring National Insurance between individuals. However, certain qualifying conditions must be satisfied.
If you are submitting the CF411A form to apply for Credits for Parents and Carers, you must explain the reason for your late application, unless you are applying for the previous tax year.
    Thank you.

    Thank you.
  • RE: Non-resident, working remotely: PAYE and other tax obligations.

    Hi Ben Langton,
The non uk employer does not need to send in any forms.
The employee would need to check with personal taxes to see if they need to do anything.
Tax on your UK income if you live abroad
    Thank you.
  • RE: Passing own NI contributions to spouse

    Hi D,
I would first of all check with DWP as the minimum number of years needed for 100% state pension is 35 years not 25.
Next it’s not possible to transfer NI contributions, if the customer is still working and still liable to pay NI then it will be deducted.
If the spouse is caring for children then it is possible to claim Child Benefit which can give credits towards state pension for the spouse even if they don’t take the CHB payment.
    Thank you.
