Hi, I sent in cf83 form online for paying back ni contributions on 2nd february 2025. Received email confirmation on the same day that it was received. Went onto hmrc site to find out when I should receive the letter response with payment details. It stated 25 July 2025. The deadline for paying back ni contributions is 5 April 2025. Will I miss this or will I be given more time to pay it if I do receive letter in July.? Regards

Hi,
For applications processed by HMRC after 5 March, you will be given 31 days to pay, for example, an application processed on 26th March, the payment will be due by 26th April.
Thank you.

When you say application processed? Is that when I receive the letter to my address? What if it's processed after 5 April?

Hi
in responce to Markham, saying that "a person is given 31 days to pay" so bearing in mind my application was processed on the 02/03/2025 would I therefore be expected to pay by the 05.04.2025?
Bearing in mind I live in Spain and this would be a very tight deadline, (Post normally takes about 2 weeks to arrive) and I would have to post a cheque /from my mum who is 82. (Can not do transfer from bank (cost is 20 pounds)
Question 1 Would more time be given to people living abroad?
Quesiton 2 Is there another way in which I can check the amount /elible for class 2 and check payment date, or I have to wait for the letter?
Question 3 I have ringing, If I managed to get through would the person be able to give me the amounts and the payment date?
Question 4 What payment date would be given?

Hi,
For any applications processed by HMRC after 5 March, you will be given 31 days to pay. To clarify this, it means any application processed after this date, including those processed after the deadline date.
What we mean by ‘Application Processed’, is the date that we deal with your application and send you confirmation of the decision.
As a further example, if we received an application before the deadline, but do not process it until after, say the 20th April 2025, then we will issue a decision notice on the same day and the 31 days will apply from this date meaning that you would have until the 21st May 2025 to pay.
Thank you.

Hi Sharon2
We would like to clarify our answer, provided above on the 10 March 2025, by answering each point
raised by you in your post of 08 March 2025.
If your application was processed on 02 March 2025 and you received the letter dated 02 March
2025 then the deadline for payment would be 05 April 2025 which has now passed. The important date is the date the letter shows as having been issued.
Qu.1 - our current policies are that we allow 31 days for a payment to be made. We may not be able to allocate payments made after a
stipulated deadline.
Qu.2 - you will need to wait for the letter from the caseworker. This will confirm amount to be paid and the date this must be paid by.
Qu. 3 - our telephone advisers won’t be able to give this information to you over the phone.
Qu.4 - the payment date would be disclosed on your letter but generally it is 31 days after the letter is
issued.
Thank you.
