Hello, Can I pay for the gaps in my national insurance via cheque? I will write a covering letter to state which years need to be covered.

I have sent a cheque form Spain on the 2nd February , should this now show up as "received" form under my personal tax account/national insurance gateway account? Or do I need to ring to confirm receipt? (I understand it takes 8 weeks or more to be allocated) but I would like to confirm receipt)

In Relation to my post yesterday, I have sent a cheque from Spain to pay for "voluntary national insurance" contributions, and it now shows has beening received. The "letter /cheque " shows "in progress" .. do I now have to wait for it to be allocated or can I try to ring and have it allocated on the phone..

Hi,
Unfortunately, it is taking about 32 weeks for our International Teams to allocate payments of voluntary contributions to National Insurance accounts.
If you would like to call our National Insurance team, then they will be able to check your National Insurance account to make sure that your payment is recorded. Our team is, however, extremely busy at the moment so you may wish to call after 6 April 2025. But please check your bank statements to ensure that the cheque has been cashed.

Thank  you.

I have already received a letter from HM Customs giving me permission to pay class 2 voluntary contributions however I did not ask for future payments and have therefore re-submitted the form asking for (old and new) and I am now waiting for a reply. Should I pay the years at class 2 that I can before 05.04 or do I need to wait? Please do not say ring.. as I have tried and "wait and Wait"

Hi,
If you have already received confirmation to make payments for past years you should make you payment before 5 April 2025. You may not be able to make a payment after this period for any of the tax years before the 2019 to 2020 tax year after this deadline and any tax year after may be subject to an increase in price.
Thank you.
