RE: Local government pension (lump sum) tax Spain
Hi Beiderbeck Dunleath,
Local government pensions remain liable to tax in the UK unless you are a national and a resident of Spain. This should therefore not be decalred to Spain unless you meet the conditions. if you do, then you need to apply for exemption in the UK.

RE: Declaring tax on side hustle
Hi aperci123,
Yes that is correct you will receive a Unique Tax Reference, UTR, once your self employment registration is processed.
You will also receive a notice to file your tax return. Once you receive your UTR you can then enrol to file your Self Assessment online using your online account. Once enrolled you will receive an activation code and once entered you can then file your Self Assessment tax return online.
Thank you. -
RE: CGT calculation with house ownership shared with Spouse
Hi deano1,
We cannot comment on any form of calculation/example or scenario, whether fact or fiction. We can only point you the direction of the guidance, so that you can review the guidance and to allow you to make an informed decision. If, after that you still need advice, you need to employ the services of a financial adviser.
The relevant guidance for residence relief is at Private Residence Relief (Self Assessment helpsheet HS283)

2. Please refer to HMRC currency exchange average rates
