This is just a general question if anyone else has had problems with tax calculations after submitting their SA return via Free Agent? I always use HMRC website to submit my return with no problems, but for the 23/24 tax year I submitted via FA and it produced some very odd results with regards to div tax which I had to work through with my accountant and HMRC. It's sorted but I am now weary of using FreeAgent at all in the future. Has anyone else using Free Agent had similar problems?

If the gains made from daytrading are via a CFD or Spread betting account then the gains are classed as gambling (as for the most part that is what day trading is!) ... so would not be classed as income or capital gain? This is also based on the fact that the underlying asset is not actually purchased by the trader.
