RE: Is savings interest 'additional income' for self assessment?
I won’t have to for that then. But, can you please advise what sort of income is classed as ‘additional income’? -
Is savings interest 'additional income' for self assessment?
I just used the 'Do you have to fill in a SA' on the HMRC website but confused over one Q and A. If the answer to 'Do you get more than 2500 additional income?" is yes then you need to fill out a tax return. If my only additional income is interest on my savings in bank accounts, do I have to fill in a tax return? -
RE: Foreign Pensions - Double Tax Agreements
Hi I have a UK Civil Service Pension, so Government pension, I have moved to Jersey, CI. Where do I pay tax? I believe the DTA means I pay tax in Jersey and get relief in the UK, is that correct? -
Jersey-UK double tax treaty - and property income
Hi I've just become a non-resident landlord, I'm living in Jersey and my property is in the UK. Can you please advise how property income is covered under the double tax-treaty? Where do I need to declare the income? And, where will I pay tax? -
QROPS and tax on pension transfers
I am on overseas resident and am considering transferring my old employer pension into my new employer pension in the European Country where I am now resident. I believe that the scheme qualifies as QROPS and I should not be liable to pay tax on the transfer. However, I do not intend to remain resident here for 5 full tax years. Instead I plan to return to the UK and will become tax resident in the UK again in 4 years time. Does this mean that I will have to pay tax on the transfer because I don't meet the 5 year residency rule? -
RE: Double taxation agreement and government pension
Thanks for this but can I choose to be taxed in the UK rather than Jersey? or, is it a question of, I either only pay in Jersey having submitted the double taxation form OR I end up paying in both Jersey and the UK? Can I fill the double taxation form in online if I need to do this? -
Double taxation agreement and government pension
I am currently resident in Jersey and am shortly due to get a UK Civil Service Pension. I had thought that monthly income from Goverment pensions were always taxable in the UK. However, from Jersey/UK protocol 2018 it seems to suggest that tax will be payable in Jersey and I will get full relief in the UK. Can you confirm the correct tax position? Also, if I took a lump sum from the Pension it would be tax free, how would that be treated in Jersey? -
ESA declaring on self assessment
