  • Employment history search process

Hello, I need to obtain a list of my employers whilst I was working in the UK (as a UK citizen) from 1985-2001 to the French authorities in order to get my French pension. I obtained my PDU1 which states clearly the qualifying years but does not list the actual employers. I was a electrician working as a contractor for 5 years of this period so was moving around lots of jobs and employers so I have vague memory of the details. I am about to fill in a UK HMRC 'Request your employment history' form and send this in but they are asking for many of these employment details which I am not 100% certain of. My question please is how detailed do I have to be with this HMRC form and is this indeed the correct form I need to fill out? Also, does HMRC keep a record of all of these employers considering they have accurately NIC years in the PDU1 form? Many thanks Michael
  • RE: NI Contribution history for French pension authority.

Hello Philip, I am in a similar position to you here in France and I can confirm the PDU1 form will be delivered to you via post. It does indeed list all of the years you have contributed but it does not list the actual employers in that period. How are you intending to provide the info to the French authorities as I have tried to do this online via the 'Info Retrait' site but they ask for details of each employment period and the employer details in those years. This is difficult for me as I was a contractor so I am curious as to how you are doing this please? Many thanks md
