I was made suddenly redundant in May 2024 following the company I was employed by going into voluntary insolvency. I have received redundancy pay and I have my final payslip however I have not been issued a P45. The company dealing with the insolvency have said it isn't their responsibility to provide the P45 and I cannot make contact with the employer. I am now a company director of a limited company and our accountant is asking for my P45 in order to complete my Self Assessment Tax Return. Can I use my final payslip or should I complete a P46? I would be grateful for advice please.

Hi,
While the figures on your final payslip will almost certainly be correct for your use, we should have received the verified correct final figures from your previous employer.
Contact us by webchat, phone or post via:
Self Assessment: general enquiries to allow us to confirm them for you.
Thank you.
