I am a Sole Trader doing software development, all of my income for the Tax year 2024/2025 so far has been from a US based company. Since I am a contractor, the US based company has not deducted any taxes but they will file records of my income with the US Internal Revenue Service. I will need to file a US Tax Return by 15 April 2025 and in order to avoid double taxation will need to provide proof that I have paid taxes on this income in the UK. Is there an option for me to pay my UK self assessment tax for 2024/2025 now so that I will be able to provide documentation when I file my US Tax Return?

Hi WayneH,
Your tax liability for 24/25 must be calculated before you can make any payments towards it.
You can file your 24/25 return from 06/04/2025, after which you can make the requested payment.
Thank you.
