For tax year 24-25 Due to high level of income received on my savings interests and dividends I completed a SA in June. SA calculation showed I owed £1200+ tax. I paid this in June 2024 and the payment now shows on sa account. However on 8th December my PAYE account stated I owe in £700 + in underpaid tax due to my savings interest. ( the PAYE calc shows less interest than I actually received and declared on my SA and does not reflect the tax I have paid through SA) I do not owe any more tax for 24-25. Will my SA payment be applied to my PAYE account once the SA deadline ( 31.1.25) has passed? I have tried online chat but they told me to phone PAYE. I would rather not clog up phone lines if the payment will automatically be applied eventually

Hi,
If you completed a 2023 to 2024 tax return in June 24, but had not correctly registered to file in Self Assessment, our systems may have still produced an additional PAYE tax calculation for 23/24, showing the £700 requested.
In order to confirm and rectify this for you, please contact our Self Assessment team via:
Self Assessment: general enquiries
Thank you.
