I'm not required to complete a self assessment tax return but, as a higher rate tax payer, I need to inform HMRC of additional pension contributions and charitable donations in order to claim the tax relief I'm entitled to on these. Once the tax year has ended I send separate letters to HMRC for each of these (one for pension contributions, one for charity donations), HMRC processes them separately and consequently issues two P800s and two cheques. My very trivial question: will HMRC accept these different claims in a single letter and process them as a single claim?

Hi,
Yes, the details can be provided in a single letter.
Thank you.
