I’m owed over £4,000 refund of Income Tax to date due to Double Taxation (Tax resident in Spain) for tax year 2023/24 and 2024 to date. I submitted the relevant form and document in July and have been told that this process will take several months more. Please could you advise if the levy late payment interest that you would charge me for late payments is payable to me on this amount due to late payment of refund?

Hi,
No.
Interest is not due on refunds for the 23/24 tax year until 1/2/25 and for 24/25 refund, this will be done through your PAYE source.
Thank you.

I live in Spain and pay tax in Spain. I sent the relevant documents to HMRC on the 6th November and to date have not heard a reply. How long does it take to hear back. Thank you
