Effective date for tax code change

Hi team, I have just filed my SA for tax year 2023/34. I received a message from HMRC saying my tax code will change since 16th Dec 2024. But when I receive my Dec 2024 payslip on Friday, it is still with the old tax code. 1) Should I expect the new tax code to be effective only from my Jan 2025 payslip onwards? 2) Do I need to tell my employer the tax code change? Or will it be updated automically in my future payslip?

It depends if an amended tax code was received in time for the December 2024 payroll.
If not it will be from the January payroll onwards.
