The latest update of the software behaves unhelpfully. When I print an Employee pay and deductions record it automatically saves a pdf. That's fine. But it saves in portrait orientation and so loses the right hand column. How can I make it print in landscape orientation?

I have similar on pressing print .. it no longer does it only saves it… it should still print.. they have made this more difficult… on ringing to ask about it.. have to send a back up copy and other technical stuff… beyond my skills .. why when the operator can see the issue can’t they just report it without all the faff and my time… if we can no longer print from the screen the print button should not be acquit should be save only.. the operator I spoke to was non pleased and frankly dismissive.. ridiculous! Someone was paid to do the update… it’s wrong.. and they should take queries much easier.

Since installing the latest update, when I print, it automatically wants to "save to pdf". I cannot select what printer I want to use. And if I save to pdf, its always in portrait with no option to change to landscape

I am also experiencing the same problem with the print option going straight to 'Save PDF ' and not to a 'print' window. The PDF is portrait only orientation with the updated PAYE Tools version 25.0.25073.211. Phoned the HMRC help desk yesterday - could not help me so they told me to send an email - gave me the email address , so I sent that off . No reply as yet, hoping the email address is correct. Lets hope HMRC it gets resolved quickly. ;-)

When clicking print payslip it just saves to PDF and there are no options to change it back in the software. This is frustrating as with quite a few employees it takes too long saving and then having to print them Anyone managed to sort a fix for this issue?

The old print function on BPT worked perfectly well the current one does not. The instructions for printing forms in the guide still gives the old method and I thought I might be able to get round the issue by exporting the payslip to CSV but that doesn't work at all and gives an internal error which refers me back to the home page. I have also tried to print the Employer Payment Record which is a 25 column page and the download only includes the first 13 columns. Please can someone put the print button back to how it used to work.

This update has been a complete shambles. I also get the Save PDF option when I hit the print option, but I can't even get it to save anything ! I have no idea what file name I need to enter to save it ? HMRC really just need to admit they've messed up and issue a corrective update giving us the print option back, as this is o use to any of us is it ?

I have contacted HMRC online services today, to report the same printing problem. I had to wait for 40 mins for my call to be answered. I was told to try various things and also it was suggested I was not on the correct version of Tools, I definitely am. The customer service responder did not seem to understand what I was trying to tell him, but did say there was going to be something done on Friday this week. I have managed to print off something by doing a screen shot and printing from the photograph, but this is not idea if there is a lot of printing to do.

I too have had the same problem with printing. I hope HMRC fix this problem soon.

Despite getting an update to Basic PAYE Tools today it still hasn't fixed the problem of printing Employer Payment Record, still goes straight to download and only shows the first 13 columns of a 25 column report. I don't understand why someone thought it was necessary to change the print function in the first place and basically they have screwed it up and by the way the guide on printing payslips doesn't even agree with the new method so please, please put it back to how it was.

I am also experiencing this problem. I have version 25.1.25092.226 an update check has confirmed this is the current version. Can you please advise if & when this problem is going to be fixed? as not being able to print to paper is a pain, but not being able to print to PDF in landscape orientation means no copy of the EPR can be retained outside of the system

Hi once again RTI has introduced unnecessary changes to how it operates. I have spent sometime trying to change the print process and failed miserably. It looks like you have no way to stop the print to PDF only being able to download it and then load the pdf to print. Why oh why make this change and not allow users to decide how they want to print out payslips etc as was in the last release. It just seems nowadays that users are not consulted or are dictated to on what they can and cannot do. Please can this be changed so the print button allows you to decide on printing as was previously. This change is a failure and just causing users to become agitated.

Just spoken to HMRC and the print facility has been removed and now only goes to PDF 🤷🏻‍♀️Have they gone mad How long do they think you have to keep swooping from screen to pdf and printing Also only prints in portrait so half your columns are missing This needs to be sorted immediately

Having the same issue, phoned the helpline. RTI are aware of it, but have no idea when this will be rectified! Pointless even saving the PDF files as it only saves to portrait. Will try and print screen to another app. Why can't they just put the print button back in the program and save everybody a lot of time!
