Looking to move abroad and work as a contractor

Hello, I am currently a full-time employee working for a UK company. However, I am planning to move abroad to an EU country permanently (not only for a couple of weeks/months). What I am going to do is: * Resign from my current role as a full-time employee, and get P45 form * In the EU country, work as a self-employed person providing consultancy services to the UK company My questions are: * What form, if any, do I need to submit in the UK, to let HMRC know that I am no longer an employee? * Will I be liable for any tax in the UK after leaving permanently? * Do I immediately become a non-UK resident since I will be leaving permanently? * Do I need to file a self-assessment form for the 2025-2026 tax year? Hello, I have seen this page but doesn’t really answer any of my questions. I will no longer be a UK employee (and I will not reside in the UK). I will be self-employed in EU because I will open my own company and I will be paying tax in an EU country (since it will be my country of residence). A UK company will hire my company on a contracting basis, but I will be classed as self-employed. Hello? Thank you for the response. So, if I am self-employed in Bulgaria, and work as a contractor to a UK company, I do not have to fill in any tax forms for HMRC? Do I become a UK non-resident immediately after I leave the UK?

Your resident is for you to determine - please see: RDR3 Statutory Residence Test   . This will then determine what information you need to report . Thank you .
