Hi, I filled in the CF83 form and received a response informing me of the payments I need to make to top up my state pension. I made 2 payments using the reference number you have to use (combination of National Insurance number and name). This was 8 weeks ago. I have have not received any acknowledgement of these 2 payments. On top of this when I log into my Gov account it shows my missing years as all needing class 3 contributions to top up my pension. The letter that was sent me from HMRC shows my top up as a combination of class 2 and 3, mostly class 2. Will this ever be updated online? I wish to pay many more of my missed years before the April 2025 deadline but I am worried where my payments are going and why these aren't showing in my online account. Many thanks for any replies.

Hi,
It may take up to 8 weeks after you have made your payment of voluntary National Insurance contributions for it to be shown on your personal tax account. If it is not recorded after the 8 weeks then you can contact our National Insurance team and they will arrange for your payment to be dealt with. Please have your payment details handy when you call.
National Insurance: general enquiries
If you have been allowed to pay the voluntary class 2 contributions then these will be reflected on our letter to you. A personal tax account will only ever show any shortfalls of voluntary contributions at the class 3 rate.
Thank you.
