"If a person’s profits are from the SPT to the LPT, they will not need to pay Class 2 NICs, their contributions are treated as having been paid to protect entitlement to State Pension and certain benefits". This has been the case for me for the past couple of tax years - should the NI record show those years as paid? Mine say they are not full? Assumed the new guidelines meant no voluntary contributions required as pension contribution covered?

Hi,
For 2022-23 and 2023-24 if you have a profit from Self Employment between the Small Profit Threshold and the Lower Profit Threshold, your Class 2 NICs will be treated as paid.
You will need to have registered to pay Class 2 NICs.
If you feel that your NI record is incorrect, you will need to contact the NI helpline on 0300 200 3500.
Thank you.
