Form 17 Query if ownership is 99%&1%

My husband and I currently own 4 properties which we let out. Each are owned 99% by my husband and 1% by myself. We have always declared and paid income tax based on this split. For the 2025/26 Tax year, we would like to claim a 50/50 split on the income. Can we use a Form 17 to declare this change, alongside a Declaration of Trust, signed and dated today?

A letter submitted to HMRC advising to remove previous Form 17 would suffice to advise 50/50 split.
