Can the cost of connecting a property to the mains water (when it was previously on a private water supply) be deducted as an expense from any future capital gains ? Thank you

Hi,
This would be considered as a normal maintenance cost and as such, would not be an allowable expense, please see the following link for further Guidance -
Tax when you sell your home
Tax when you sell property
Thank you.
